During the night between april 6 and april 7, 2009 a terrible earthquake completely destroyed the Abruzzo region, killing hundreds of people. News of the event was immediately broadcast all over the world, effectively turning this devastating situation into a spectacle, until it better resembled a movie set than the actual disaster that it was.
